Rome 2023

This church, was directly across the street from our hotel. It was one of the first things we explored the next morning after we arrived. They had mass going on, so we sat through one service. It was a neat old building built in the 1500’s. Truth is, there are tons of 500 year old churches there.

Pizza!

I know you wanted to see what the pizza really looked like. It was awesome, and i want more.

More Churches

This particular church, was fascinating, because this is where most think the council of Nicea took place. (If you’re unfamiliar with this, look it up.) The church was a building, built over a building, built over a house. It’s about 4 levels deep and over 2000 years old.

Living dangerously

We had dinner one night, literally sitting at a table, on the road. This is fairly common there. You can see how close we are to traffic. I’s really kind of cool, but scary at the same time.

Rome in a day

We toured the Vatican, the Parthenon and the Colliseum. We also saw some amazing food. (And ate some)

Did you know the pope rides around in a Ford Escort? Me either.

The Condoms though!

Because I’m really a teenager at heart… This made me giggle.

McDonald’s outside the Vatican

I’ve mentioned before, just how much better the food quality is in the EU. Here’s an example, of what McDonald’s looks like in Rome, outside the Vatican. They still have all the burgers and chicken sandwiches we love. But, look at the friggin pastries!

Final Shots

Here’s a few final shots I snapped of various food, and things, around Rome. Hope you enjoyed.

See ya next time!

The proper way to leave Rome! Stand with your back to Trevi Fountain, toss a coin over your left shoulder, with your right hand, and walk away, and don’t look back. It signifies, that you’ll be back some day.
